[28] Writers whose works would fall under the mythpunk label include Ekaterina Sedia, Theodora Goss, Neil Gaiman, Sonya Taaffe, Adam Christopher, and the anonymous author behind the pen name "B.

[25] Others noted that almost all traits claimed to be uniquely cyberpunk could in fact be found in older writers' works—often citing J.

From Southern Enclave #15: "About the only fannish word that bugs me is "sci-fi" which was created by Forrest J. So SF authors may get to have that type of problem now—that they are "not sufficiently Russian," not sufficiently nationalist—instead of problems with censorship; but probably it will be a smaller problem.

Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom novels (set on Mars) are a good example. There are a number of well-known techniques for doing this—all of the classic surrealist techniques, for instance, especially the game called exquisite corpse, where you pass a folded piece of paper around the room and write a line of poetry or a single word and fold it again and then the next person blindly adds to it.
